How to Manage Your Memory
Our Memory Management dashboard gives you full control over what our bots remember about your conversations. This guide will walk you through accessing and using the dashboard.
Step 1: Find Your Discord User ID
To access your memory, you'll need your unique Discord User ID. This is different from your username (e.g., "myusername#1234"). Here's how to find it:
- Enable Developer Mode: In your Discord app, go to `User Settings` > `Advanced` and make sure "Developer Mode" is toggled on.
- Copy Your ID: Go to any server, find your own username in the user list on the right, right-click on your name, and select "Copy User ID". This long string of numbers is your User ID.
Step 2: Access the Dashboard
On our main page, scroll down to the "Memory Management" section. You will see two input fields:
- Your Discord User ID: Paste the ID you just copied here.
- Your API Key: Enter your full Electron Hub API key. This is used to verify your identity.
Once both fields are filled, click the "Access Memory" button.
Step 3: Using the Dashboard
Upon successful login, you will see your memory dashboard, which includes:
- Usage Statistics: A quick overview of your total messages, channels used, and total characters stored.
- Conversations List: A list of all channels where you have a conversation history with one of our bots.
- Actions: For each conversation, you have several options:
- View: Opens a new popup window displaying the full, message-by-message history for that specific channel.
- Edit: (Coming Soon) This feature will allow for more granular control over individual memories.
- Delete: Permanently deletes the entire conversation history for that specific channel. This is useful for reducing token usage or starting a story over from scratch. **This action cannot be undone.**
